Tex died December 3, 2008, at age 71, in Colorado Springs from complications of a heart condition.  Tex was  retired Air Force and he attended many Fly-Ins, both as a balloon pilot and an observer.  Tex was a generous supporter of the Stearman Fly-In.

Tex will be buried at Arizona's National VA Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ.
